Post Syndicated from Bradley M. Kuhn original http://ebb.org/bkuhn/blog/2025/02/28/osi-board-election.html
I accepted nomination as a candidate for an “Affiliate
seat” in the Open Source Initiative (OSI) Board of Directors
elections. I was nominated by the following four OSI Affiliates:
- The Matrix Foundation
- The Perl and Raku Foundation
- Software Freedom Conservancy (my employer)
- snowdrift.coop
To my knowledge, I am the only Affiliate candidate, in the history of these
OSI
Board of Directors “advisory” elections, to be nominated by
four Affiliates.
I am also endorsed by another Affiliate, the Debian Project.
You can see
my official
candidate page on OSI’s website. This blog post will be updated
throughout the campaign to link to other posts, materials, and announcement
related to my candidacy throughout the campaign.
Updates During the Campaign
- At
OSI’s request (which was surprising and reversed earlier guidance on the
matter from the OSI), I Signed an OSI Board Agreement in Anticipation of
2025 Election Results - There
were many irregularities in the 2025 OSI Board Elections.
I ran
on the
“OSI Reform Platform” with Richard Fontana.
I created a Fediverse account specifically to interact
with constituents and the public, so please
also follow that on
